We bought this camera for our 14 year old son to take on a trip to the Florida Keys. As we have not gone yet I can’t say how it will perform in the ocean. He has taken photos in the pool and at a lake and they actually came out pretty good. It is what we expected given the price, a decent underwater camera, suitable for amateur photographers or folks who really only need an underwater camera occasionally. If you are into serious photography, I would recommend you spend a little more money but, if you are just looking for something to take fun underwater pics, this is worth the money.

I got this camera 3 years ago as a surprise for my wife, and she has loved it. It is very small so she can always take it with her in her purse. It has come in handy in the many situations in life where you want to take a photo and you thankfully have this camera handy. Today, I suppose people use their cell phones these purposes, but as you know, the image quality on cell phone cameras is horrendous. My wife can take a real photo and circulate to her family and friends who want something worth keeping.

After 3 years of use the LCD flickers, and it will need to be repaired. I first checked to see if Canon makes anything as small, and they don’t, so we will spend the money to keepo using this camera. It is not a prosumer or DSLR replacement, but it is a camera we can and do take everywhere, and so it has captured some great shots we’d have otherwise missed.

This camera replaces a 0 Canon I bought four years ago. The improved technology contained in this camera (for less money) is quite impressive. It is small, easy to use, and the camera’s auto shoot function is just about all you need. The auto shoot instantaneously adjusts to just about any situation: bright light, low light, beach, sunset, and also strong back light conditions. For instance, my wife was standing on a balcony in the Turks with the sun light behind her. The camera automatically found her face, focused on that and adjusted the flash to add just enough light to make her the same brightness as the background- the result was a near perfect exposure. The camera also does a nice job of making panoramic pictures easy (and the software that comes with the camera stitches the pictures together for a near seamless result).

Besides the auto function, the camera has features that allow for full control of individual preferences in taking pictures.
